Division 'A'
Waterloo & Taunton showed no mercy in beating Lees & Springhead (10:1) and relegating them back to Division B after a year in Division A. At the beginning of the season Lees & Springhead showed that they had what was required to play in the top division and it is a pity to see them relegated after just one season.
Hopwood beat Radcliffe (8:3) helping them to finish third from the bottom.
Although New Street and Springbank each won four out of the eight games, New Street took the aggregate by twenty-eight points to win the match (7:4). This enabled New Street to take the fourth place in the Division and ensured that Springbank will have to play off against Nimble Nook for a place in Division A next year.
In the individual merit, R Goodman (Hopwood) and I Turrell (Radcliffe) both finished with 13 wins but I Turrell has a superior average.
Division 'B'
Second and third place teams: Nimble Nook and North Chadderton played each other on Saturday and each came away with some self-satisfaction. Nimble Nook took five of the eight games but North Chadderton won the aggregate to win the match by 6 points to 5.
Failsworth had a very good (7:4) win over fourth place Prestwich; the teams shared the game wins but Failsworth won the aggregate.
The Vixens lost to Dogwood (2:9) despite scoring a reasonable aggregate of 139.
S Mellor (Nimble Nook) wins the individual merit competition with 16 wins; he beat D Mountford (North Chadderton) by one win.
